Rain,
wind, rot, rust and sun over time will eventually
reduce all things to dust. All we can do is try to
slow down the process. In metals, this process of
oxidation or rust is slowest in gold, titanium, and
stainless steel. Other metals must be protected from
the oxygen in air with a chemical barrier. This has
given rise to the coating industry and an ongoing
search for paint that doesn't lose the battle

that resin remarkably out-performs the wood and
metals used in outdoor furniture, and does it by a
wide margin. They all yield too soon to rain, sun,
