Umbrellas face tough challenges resulting from long
hours of exposure to all types of weather,
from high winds and rain to blazing sun and salt air.
FiberBuilt has developed a unique line of
beach and patio Umbrellas that are made not only to
endure these harsh conditions,
but also to provide the consumers with quality, choice
and longevity.
A key component to our umbrellas, and what clearly
distinguishes us, is our fiberglass support “RIBS”.
(You have seen fiberglass perform for many years in
products like fishing poles, golf club shafts and
boats.)
Unlike traditional metal and wood ribs, our fiberglass
ribs are strong and resilient - bending and flexing -
to absorb wind without breaking or disfiguring. This
flexibility, combined with an inherent resistance to
rust and corrosion, results in umbrellas that last
four to five times longer than traditional steel or
wood ribbed umbrellas.
“ The use of fiberglass ribs in the umbrella is a key
to the stability of the umbrella to resist damage. The
rib structure is sufficiently rigid to support the
canopy, but has an excellent ability to elastically
flex and return to its original position without any
damage to the ribs or the canopy material.”
Dr. Marc Zampinho’s conclusions as a result of the 57
mph wind test applied to our umbrellas.
